The best iPhone apps for saving reusable text, screenshots and documents (2026)
Disclosure: we make Suvadi, one of the apps below. We’ve tried to describe every app fairly, using what each developer says on its App Store page. Prices and features were checked on November 8, 2026 and may change.
If you send the same replies, price lists, documents or screenshots again and again, you’ve probably tried a few ways to keep them handy. Here is how the main options compare, starting with what’s already on your iPhone.
First: what you already have
Apple Notes is free, fast and searches text inside attached images and documents. Many people keep reusable replies in a single note and are perfectly happy. It gets cluttered when replies, documents and screenshots are mixed together in long notes.
Text Replacement (Settings › General › Keyboard) expands a short shortcut into a longer phrase as you type. It’s ideal for an email address or a sign-off, but it only handles plain text. See our guide to text replacement.
Photos searches the text in your screenshots. See how to search text inside screenshots.
If these already cover what you do, you may not need another app. The apps below are for people who reuse things often enough that a dedicated place saves real time.
The apps
| App | Best for | Platforms | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| SnipStash | Reusable text and templates, inserted with a keyboard | iPhone, iPad, Mac | Free tier; Pro $19.99 one-time |
| Ribbons | A general “save it, find it again” library | iPhone, iPad, Mac | $3.99/month or $39.99/year |
| Ledge | Clipboard history plus snippets | iPhone, Mac | $2.99/month, $19.99/year or $49.99 lifetime |
| Paste | Clipboard history across Apple devices | iPhone, iPad, Mac | $3.99/month, $29.99/year or $99.99 lifetime |
| PastePal | Clipboard manager with one-time pricing | iPhone, iPad, Mac | $14.99 one-time |
| Suvadi | Reusable replies, screenshots and documents, searched by content | iPhone, iPad | Free to download; optional one-time Pro |
SnipStash
SnipStash is built around reusable text. It supports templates with fill-in variables such as {Name}, a keyboard extension that inserts snippets in any app, Siri and Shortcuts actions, and a Mac app with a quick-search palette. It also saves images and files. The free version allows 25 snippets.
Choose it if you mainly reuse text and want to insert it from the keyboard while typing.
Ribbons
Ribbons saves text, images, links and PDFs into “Drawers”, and searches titles, notes and the text inside supported images and PDFs. It syncs with iCloud and lets you share Drawers with other people.
Choose it if you want a general saved-content library shared with family or colleagues, and don’t mind a subscription.
Ledge
Ledge combines clipboard history with snippets. It searches text in photos and screenshots, has fill-in templates with date and clipboard placeholders, and offers widgets and Control Center buttons. On the Mac it records what you copy.
Choose it if clipboard history on the Mac matters to you.
Paste and PastePal
Both are mature clipboard managers that keep a history of everything you copy, mainly on the Mac, with iPhone and iPad apps. Paste uses a subscription or lifetime price; PastePal is a one-time purchase.
Choose one if your main problem is “I copied something earlier and lost it”. Note that iPhone apps can’t record your clipboard in the background, so history works best on the Mac.
Suvadi
Suvadi (our app) is a library for the specific things you send or show again: replies, screenshots, PDFs and other files. It reads text inside screenshots and PDFs on your device, shows why each result matched, and lets you copy, open or share right from the search results. There’s no account, and nothing is uploaded.
It doesn’t have templates, a keyboard, sync or a Mac app yet. Those are planned.
Choose it if you want your reusable documents and screenshots, not just text, in one private, searchable place on your iPhone.
How to choose
- Mostly text, typed into other apps: a snippet app with a keyboard, such as SnipStash, or Text Replacement for short phrases.
- “What did I copy earlier?”: a clipboard manager such as Paste or PastePal, ideally with a Mac.
- A shared library with others: Ribbons.
- Documents and screenshots you send often, kept private: Suvadi.
- Not often enough to bother: Apple Notes and Photos search are free and genuinely good.
Whatever you choose, test it with your real items for a week. The best app is the one you actually reach for when someone asks for that document again.
Suvadi keeps the replies, documents and screenshots you reuse in one private library on your iPhone, searchable by the words inside them.
